Marisa is a dynamic and accomplished education professional with over 15 years of exceptional experience as a lead teacher, program administrator, and nonprofit board member. Her unwavering dedication to educational transformation, combined with her resourceful nature, led her to create meaningful impact in schools and communities.

With a Master of Education and a concentration in library media and information science, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and a minor in psychology, Marisa possesses a solid educational foundation that underpins her outstanding achievements. Her journey began as a classroom teacher, where her passion for innovation and student engagement quickly set her apart.

As a driven lead teacher, Marisa played a pivotal role in implementing engaging programming that fostered a love for learning among her students. Recognized for her exceptional leadership skills and creative mindset, she seamlessly transitioned into the role of district literacy coach at the Dickinson Public Schools. Here, she demonstrated her innate ability to identify and nurture potential, ensuring that educators were equipped with the tools they needed to inspire academic excellence.

Marisa's career trajectory also included an instrumental role as a program administrator. Her resourcefulness and visionary approach led to the establishment of district-wide STEM labs, creating innovative opportunities for students to explore the realms of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Her accomplishments extended beyond the classroom as she testified for computer science and cybersecurity legislation, advocating for the integration of crucial skills in the modern education landscape.

Her dedication to community enrichment is exemplified through her involvement with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Stark County and the Southwest Art Gallery and Science Center.
