I grew up and lived in the suburbs of central New Jersey. After completing my degree at the University of Massachusetts- Amherst and spending a little extra time there, I moved to Colorado. I loved the art, culture, music and above all, the love and respect for living each day to its fullest that was so very present there.
In 2014, I moved to western ND for a work opportunity and haven’t left since. I have a wonderful wife who was born and raised in Killdeer and a huge extended family for our three small children.
Growing up, science was a major part of my life. My father is a retired physicist along with my uncle and grandfather, so science wasn’t just a class we took in school. It was a very real part of every aspect of our lives growing up. Science projects weren’t just assignments from school, they were a part of our “play” as children. As I got older, I never lost this feeling of needing to understand the “why” and “how” of everything possible.
As strong of an influence as science has had on my life, I’ve also been blessed with the ability to appreciate many different forms of art. Some classic like music, sculpture, drawing and multiple methods of painting and others more in the “fringe realm” of metal fabrication, welding, custom machining, and a mode that I like to refer to as “functional art”.
My work experience has led me to being a mechanic, carpenter, shop owner, insurance adjuster and oilfield production/NGL extraction specialist! The diverse breadth of disciplines follows my desire to always learn more.
When I heard about the creation of the Southwest Art and Science Center, I knew I needed to be part of it. I passionately believe this will bring so much value in opportunities that the youth of Southwest North Dakota will be able to have and explore and experience.
