Irene graduated from Dickinson State University with a major in Accounting and Business Administration. After employment of 40 years with the Bismarck Tribune, Irene was included in a downsizing; resulting in a two-month retirement before joining Heart River Voice (a monthly news publication). Irene is active in and has supported many organizations and groups over the years. She has received many awards and recognitions, including the DSU Golden Hawk award, Rotarian of the Year, Salesperson of the year for the Bismarck Tribune. Currently Irene is a board member of the DSU Heritage Foundation, Dickinson Area Builders Association and Southwest Art Gallery & Science Center. Other current memberships include the Dickinson Rotary, Dickinson Chamber of Commerce, Stark County Development, Elks Club, Eagles Club and Badlands Board of Realtors. Irene and her co-partner, Shirley Dukart started Power of 100 Women Dickinson. Power of 100 Women has supported local charities for the past 7 years: reaching a goal of over a half million dollars in donations as of January 2023. Irene is interested in helping to build a great community in Dickinson and the surrounding area.
